Who it is for
Mechanics already working in Japan who want to move to Type 2. The waiting period between attempts is shorter than most tests: 30 days.
Who can take it
- At least 17 years old on the test day (18 for Indonesian nationals).
- At least three years of automobile maintenance work at a certified garage by the day before the test.
- After a failed attempt you must wait 30 days before retaking.
