Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of JFT Guru and Nepali Kanji, products of Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd. (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy also apply and form part of these Terms.

2. Accounts and Billing

When you create an account with us on JFT Guru, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service. Your account is for you alone: do not share your login or let other people use your plan.

JFT Guru offers premium subscriptions and digital products (online books and study materials). We support the following payment methods:

a) Dodo Payments (International Cards)

Card-based payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record for all card transactions and handles payment processing and billing-related customer service. We do not store your card details on our servers.

b) eSewa

Nepali users may pay directly with eSewa. When you choose this method, you are sent to eSewa to log in and approve the payment; eSewa's own terms and privacy policy govern that transaction. We do not see or store your eSewa login or PIN. Your subscription is activated once eSewa confirms the payment to us. This is usually immediate, but it can take a few minutes if eSewa is slow to respond. If you have paid and your plan is not active after 30 minutes, contact us with your eSewa transaction ID.

c) APInepali - Other Nepali Wallets and Banking

Nepali users may also pay via APInepali, a payment aggregator that supports other Nepali digital wallets and banking services (including Khalti, ConnectIPS, FonePay, and mobile banking). When you choose this method, you are redirected to the APInepali-hosted payment page. APInepali's own terms and privacy policy govern that transaction. We do not access or store your wallet credentials. A service charge as configured by APInepali may apply.

d) Manual Payment (Bank Transfer)

We also accept manual bank transfers. To complete a manual payment, you must submit your transaction ID and a payment screenshot through the app or website. Manual payments are reviewed and approved by our team within a reasonable time. Approval is not guaranteed if the transaction cannot be verified. Submitting false or fraudulent payment proofs is a breach of these Terms and may result in account termination.

e) Refunds and Renewals

All purchases are final and non-refundable. Plans are paid once for a fixed period and do not renew automatically. Billing errors, such as a double charge or a payment that did not activate your plan, are always corrected. See our Refund Policy for details.

Nepali Kanji does not require account creation and has no billing or subscription features. All payment-related sections above apply to JFT Guru only.

3. Intellectual Property

The Services and their original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd. and its licensors.

Questions Based on Published Books

Practice questions, reading passages and audio on JFT Guru are prepared by our team and by partner teachers and institutes. Some of this material is based on, or adapted from, published textbooks and workbooks, for example:

The copyright in every published book, and in any material taken or adapted from it, remains with its author and publisher. Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd. does not claim ownership of that material. It is used only for non-official exam practice and study.

Images and Illustrations

Illustrations, photos and icons shown with questions come from different sources, including our own artwork, free illustration libraries used under their terms of use, and material supplied by partner teachers. Each image remains the property of its creator or rights holder. Seeing an image on JFT Guru does not give you any right to copy, download or reuse it.

Independent Platform

JFT Guru is an independent study platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Japan Foundation, Prometric, or any official JFT-Basic or JLPT examination body. The names "JFT-Basic" and "JLPT" are used only to describe the exams our practice material helps you prepare for.

Intellectual Property - Nepali Kanji Open Data

The Nepali Kanji app uses the following third-party open-licensed datasets to provide kanji and dictionary functionality:

Rights to these datasets remain with their respective owners. Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd. claims no ownership over these datasets. They are used solely under the terms of their respective open licenses.

4. Content Disclaimer

Practice questions, mock tests, and study materials on JFT Guru are prepared by our team and by partner teachers and institutes, for educational and practice purposes only. Some questions are developed with reference to published JFT Basic study books and publicly available learning materials (see section 3).

  • Our questions are practice questions only. They are not sourced directly from, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Japan Foundation or any official JFT Basic examination body.
  • We make no guarantee that any question appearing in our app will appear in an actual JFT Basic exam.
  • JFT Guru is a study aid, not an official exam preparation resource. Use it to build knowledge and confidence, not as a prediction of actual exam content.
  • Rights in original questions written by our team remain with Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd. Rights in material from published books remain with their authors and publishers (see section 3).

5. Acceptable Use of Content

You may use JFT Guru for your own personal study. Unless we have given you written permission, you must not:

  • copy, download, scrape, reprint or translate questions, answers, reading passages, audio or images;
  • screen-record, screenshot or film mock tests or practice sets to publish on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook or any other platform, or to use in classes, courses or paid material;
  • remove, hide, crop or blur the JFT Guru watermark or any copyright notice;
  • sell, share or redistribute your account access or any of our content.

Teachers, institutes and consultancies who want to use JFT Guru with their students must use a partner account and follow its terms.

If you upload content to JFT Guru (for example as a teacher or partner), you confirm that you have the right to use it: it is your own work, it is in the public domain, it is licensed, or you have the rights holder's permission. You are responsible for that content, and we may remove it at any time.

If you break these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account, ask for the copied material to be taken down, and take legal action where necessary.

6. Copyright Complaints

If you believe material on JFT Guru uses your copyright without permission, such as questions or audio from your book or an illustration you created, please use our Copyright Report form. You can also reach it from the "Report a copyright concern" link under every mock test question, which fills in the exact question for you. Or email [email protected] with:

  • your name and contact details;
  • the work you own (for example, the book title and publisher);
  • where it appears on JFT Guru (a link, exam set name, or screenshot);
  • proof that you own the work, such as the book's cover and copyright page, the original file, or a licence or contract (and, if you act for the owner, their written authorisation);
  • whether you want the material removed, credited, or to discuss a licence;
  • a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them.

Every report gets a reference number. Reports without proof of ownership cannot be acted on. We check the proof in every complete report and, where the claim is valid, remove or replace the material, or add the credit you ask for, as quickly as we can, and reply to you by email. If a partner teacher or institute supplied the material, we may also ask them about its source.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Tech Bato Pvt. Ltd., nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services.

9. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
