Food & Beverage Manufacturing SSW Type 1 Skills Test
The Type 1 test for food and beverage factories (飲食料品製造業). It checks food safety, hygiene and HACCP knowledge in Japanese. There is one version for candidates in Japan and another for those taking it abroad.

In Japan or abroad
The test is run as two programmes with their own booking windows: one for candidates in Japan and one for candidates outside Japan. The windows above are labelled so you can see which applies to you.
Who can take it
- At least 17 years old on the test day (18 for Indonesian nationals).
- Japanese nationals cannot take it.
- After a failed attempt you must wait 45 days before taking the same test again.
