JFT-Basic Exam Centres in Nepal: How to Find and Confirm Yours

If you are booking JFT-Basic in Nepal, you need to know where you will actually sit the test. This guide explains how to find your centre, how to confirm it before you travel, and what happens when you arrive.

Why we do not publish a centre list

You will find plenty of pages listing JFT-Basic centre addresses in Nepal. Treat them all with suspicion, including any list that was on this page in the past.

Test centres are operated by Prometric, and they open, close, relocate and change their available seat counts. A list that was accurate when it was written quietly becomes wrong, and there is no notice when it does. The cost of that error is not abstract - it is a candidate travelling to the wrong district on exam morning and missing the test.

The booking system is the only authoritative and current source for which centres exist and which ones have seats for your date. That is where your centre is confirmed, and it is what your confirmation email will state.

How to find the centres available to you

1. Create or sign in to your Prometric account.
2. Select JFT-Basic specifically - Prometric administers many different tests.
3. Select Nepal as the country.
4. The system will show the centres with seats available, along with dates. What you see here is live.

JFT-Basic runs as a computer-based test monthly as a rule, so there is usually a date within weeks. Individual centres have limited seats, though, and the more convenient ones fill first.

Choosing between centres

If more than one centre has seats, weigh these:

• Travel time on the day. The single biggest avoidable risk is arriving late. If the centre is not in your city, plan to arrive the night before rather than travelling on exam morning - road delays are not an accepted reason for a missed reporting time.
• Reporting time, not test time. Check-in is earlier than the test itself, and your confirmation states it. Plan around the reporting time.
• Seat availability against your readiness. A nearer centre in six weeks usually beats a distant one next week, especially if the extra time gets you above the pass mark.

Confirm your centre before you travel

A short checklist, worth doing a few days out:

• Open your confirmation email and read the centre name and address as stated there - not as you remember it, and not from a third-party list.
• Check your Prometric account for any change or notice about your booking.
• Confirm the reporting time.
• Check that the name on your booking matches your passport exactly. A mismatch is one of the most common reasons candidates are turned away, and it is entirely avoidable.

What to expect at the centre

• ID check. Bring the same identification you registered with. This is checked carefully.
• Storage. Personal belongings including phones are stored outside the test room.
• A computer-based test. JFT-Basic is taken on a computer at the centre - 60 minutes, about 50 questions, four sections, with audio for the listening questions.
• Your result on the day. Because it is computer-based, you see your result the same day. The official notification of your assessment result is issued within 5 business days.

What the test costs

The fee is set per country and shown to you during booking, and it changes over time. Read the amount on the payment screen rather than trusting a figure quoted on another site.

Before you book a seat

The most expensive mistake is booking before you are ready. You need 200 points out of 250 - reported as A2.2 - to qualify for the SSW visa. Since August 2026 the test also reports A1 and A2.1, and neither of those is a pass.
